Tashkent Files is another neo-noir thriller, which may seem similar to most films released in recent times. But, the film has a unique storyline and is best suited for those who have some interest in the crime and thriller genre. Tashkent Files is about a Mumbai based journalist (Rahul Khanna) who aspires to be a reporter. He finds out about some mysterious files related to the assassination of the former Prime Minister of India and is suddenly put under the scanner.
He struggles to find out the truth, and in the process, faces many hurdles. The film has an interesting storyline but lacks in execution. The storyline is predictable and does not have any twists and turns. The screenplay of the film is not gripping, and the plot seems incomplete. The performance of Rahul Khanna is decent. He matches well with Lara Dutta. Lara Dutta is charming and does justice to the role. She makes a good pair with Rahul Khanna.
